  • Farzana Pashankar, MD, MRCP, MBBS

    Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology); Fellowship Director, Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Program; Director, Solid Tumor Program, Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Program; Children's Oncology Group Site PI, Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Program

    Dr Farzana Pashankar is an accomplished pediatric hematologist oncologist, specializing in care of children with sickle cell disease and solid tumors. She is an international expert in germ cell tumors and rare tumors. Her research has focused on clinical trial development through Children's Oncology Group, and she is the Chair and Vice Chair of international trials in germ cell tumors. Dr Pashankar is Director of Pediatric Solid Tumor Program, Disease Aligned Research Team Leader for Pediatrics at Smilow Cancer Center and Director of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program. Dr Pashankar received her MBBS and MD from University of Pune, India. She trained in United Kingdom, receiving an MRCP. She subsequently did a residency at University of Iowa and fellowship at British Columbia Children's Hospital, before joining Yale in 2005.

    Dr. Prasanna Ananth is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. As a specialist caring for children with cancer and blood disorders, she says that helping children and families cope with serious illness provides inspiration for her patient care and research. Dr. Ananth is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology).   • Aron Flagg, MD

    Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology)

    Dr. Flagg finished his residency and chief residency in general pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Children’s in 2009, where he subsequently completed a combined fellowship training pathway in pediatric hematology/oncology and infectious diseases.  His interests include clinical pediatric bone marrow transplantation, particularly immune deficiency and lymphoblastic leukemia. He is particularly intrigued by the infectious and immunological consequences of transplant.

  • Lakshmanan Krishnamurti, MD

    Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology); Chief, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

    Dr. Lakshmanan Krishnamurti is Chief of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant and Leader of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program. Dr. Krishnamurti is an accomplished pediatric hematologist oncologist and an international leader in bone marrow transplant and the treatment of hemoglobinopathies. Prior to joining Yale, he was a professor of pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine and director of the bone marrow transplantation program where he holds the Joseph Kuechenmeister Aflac Field Force Chair at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Krishnamurti received his MBBS from University of Poona, Armed Forces Medical College, India and completed a pediatrics residency at University of Bombay, India. He attended University of Minnesota for his pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric hematology, oncology and BMT.

  • Stephanie Massaro, MD, MPH

    Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology); Medical Director, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology; Director, Pediatric Palliative Care

    Dr. Massaro obtained a Medical Degree from Albany Medical College, then went on to complete a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center Hospital for Children.  Dr. Massaro completed subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine.  In 2009, Dr. Massaro joined Yale Medicine and is now an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Hematology/Oncology.  Stephanie is Board Certified in Pediatrics and  Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Her clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric blood cancers including leukemia and lymphoma.  In addition, Dr. Massaro is the medical director of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Inpatient Unit and director of the Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care Program at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital.  Dr. Massaro serves on the Yale-New Haven Hospital Quality and Safety Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Oncology Committee, as well as several community foundation boards.

  • Vidya Puthenpura, MD, MHS, FAAP

    Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology)

    Dr. Puthenpura completed medical school and her pediatrics residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and graduated hematology/oncology fellowship from Yale in 2021. Her clinical interests include caring for pediatric and adolescent patients with brain tumors. Understanding the socioeconomic and emotional burden of cancer therapy on her patients provides the impetus for her research, which is focused on identifying and addressing outcome and survival disparities in pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancer patients due to race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and geographic location.

  • Rozalyn Levine Rodwin, MD

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Rodwin completed her clinical fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Yale in 2020, and subsequently conducted research in childhood cancer survivorship as a Pediatric Scholar and post-doctoral fellow in the Cancer Prevention and Control T32 Program. She has also served as director of the HEROS Childhood Cancer Survivorship Clinic since 2021. She looks forward to continuing her research aimed at minimizing treatment-related toxicities in childhood cancer survivors and leading the HEROS survivorship program.
